Silaw Lighting Design, LLC.

Silaw Lighting Design, LLC. is a small boutique lighting design company based in Southeastern Virginia. Silaw means "light" in Ilocano, a Philippine dialect. The name is meaningful tribute to her family and her passion for lighting. 

Founder, Laura Ashley and I collaborated on the direction of her logo, which was to achieve a “boho-chic”, beach vibe in script, and to also avoid one request: “No light bulbs.” What resulted was a script logotype with beach/sun imagery with minimalistic lines-that created an accidental LIGHT BULB. In the end, it turned out to be a muti-layered logotype that she fell in love with.
